Hal Vincent’s extensive knowledge of government and the news media follows a career of more than 30 years as a newscaster, reporter and news director with radio stations in Ontario and Quebec.
Hal was Queen’s Park Bureau Chief for CFRB Radio for 19 years, and during most of that time, also reported for Standard Broadcast News, a national private radio network. This period, especially 1985-99, saw dramatic changes in the Ontario government and Hal covered and analyzed virtually all major events and developments.
From 1999 to 2003, Hal served as senior communications advisor to several Ontario cabinet ministers as well as the Ontario Government Caucus, and was involved in strategic planning, media analysis and media training.
More recently, Hal worked in Corporate Affairs at Scotiabank, researching and writing speeches and other strategic material for senior executives, including the CEO. He also provided strategic communications support in other areas of the Bank’s department of Public, Corporate and Government Affairs.
